One man accused of stabbing another man in east Emporia last fall is nearing trial.
Cody Risner has a final pretrial at 4 pm Wednesday before trial is supposed to begin Feb. 24.
Risner is accused of stabbing Tyler Ray Smith after an argument in the 1200 block of Triplett Drive on Oct. 1 and has been charged with single counts of aggravated assault and aggravated battery. Risner has denied both the confrontation and stabbing Smith.
