Lyon County Treasurer Sharon Gaede is running for re-election.
Gaede was first elected in 2012, so she is going for her third term. She is currently running unopposed. She says there are several reasons why she likes her job and would be the right choice for county treasurer.
Gaede oversees both the Treasurer’s Office and Motor Vehicle Office. She becomes the second elected department head to either file for re-election or announce a re-election bid. County Attorney Marc Goodman announced his re-election effort during KVOE’s Talk of Emporia last month.
All elected department heads are on the ballot in Lyon County this fall along with two of the three County Commission seats. The County Commission Second District race is already tightening up on the Republican side with Robert McClelland, Phil Mott and Doug Peck all seeking to replace Dan Slater, who is not seeking a third term in office. Third District Republican Rollie Martin is currently unopposed.
