The Kansas Turnpike Authority has approved two contracts for upcoming construction work northeast of Emporia.
Wildcat Construction and Subsidiaries of Wichita won a contract to redeck and raise the Kansas Highway 31 bridge over the Turnpike at mile marker 155.5 in northwest Osage County, nearly 30 miles northeast of Emporia. The bid amount was $1.46 million.
King’s Construction of Oskaloosa won a separate bid to improve drainage for reinforced box culverts at mile marker 151.5, almost 25 miles northeast of Emporia in far northeast Lyon County. The submitted bid was $1.94 million.
The Turnpike Authority expects both projects to start in March and finish in December, weather permitting. Additional details will be posted on www.ksturnpike.com and www.kandrive.org.
