The Emporia High girls wrestling team won the first ever Centennial League tournament Championship Saturday. The Emporia High boys wrestling team finished in 3rd place in the Centennial League tournament.
The girls had 4 individual champions, 5 second place finishes and 1 third place finish.
Azia Obregon at 101, Tehya Osage at 136, Gloria Peroza at 143 and Trinity Ervin at 191 pounds were champions.
Sujiely Duran at 116, Miranda Taylor at 123, Maddie Griffin at 130, Kiana Flores-Delgado at 170 and Megan Olson at 235 finished in 2nd place. Evelin Geronimo at 109 finished in 3rd place.
Washburn Rural finished in 2nd place, Junction City 3rd and Topeka High 4th.
The Emporia High boys had 2 individual champions. Xerarch Tungjaroenkul at 132 pounds and Ethan Garate at 170.
Lucas Hainline at 113 and Whitney Hall at 220 finished in 2nd place.
Alex Redick at 145, Tanner Tibbets at 160 and Bobby Trujillo at 196 finished in 3rd place.
David Schaefer at 126 and Johnny Castanon at 285 finished in 4th place.
Washburn Rural won the team title, Manhattan was 2nd and Emporia High 3rd.
The girls regional tournament will be held next weekend at McPherson.
The boys regional tournament will be held February 21st and 22nd at Valley Center.
