The Emporia City Commission may formally enter into an agreement to provide financial support for the Ignite Emporia Campaign during their action session Wednesday afternoon.
Commissioners have discussed a one-year, $20,000 agreement. Ignite Emporia had originally proposed a five-year, $150,000 commitment, but commissioners are considering a shorter-term agreement to gauge progress before deciding on a long-term arrangement.
In other business, a request for the creation of the Riverside Addition subdivision final plat just south of Riverside School and an ordinance and request to vacate the utility easements for two lots of the Zirnstein Addition near the intersection of South Avenue and Barbie Drive will also be considered. Additionally, the annexation of multiple properties as part of a runway extension for the Emporia Municipal Airport and the rezoning of two parcels at 1610 and 1600 W. 15th Ave from restricted commercial to high-density residential will also see consideration.
The meeting begins at 1:30 pm inside the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
