After the inaugural Halfway to Everywhere Music and Arts festival widely exceeded original expectations last year, organizers are looking forward to an even better experience this year.
Kansas Free For Arts Executive Director Hank Osterhout, the mastermind behind the festival, says after an eclectic lineup of performers last year which featured the likes of Blackalicious, That One Guy and crowd favorite the Ziggawats, this year’s lineup will be completely fresh. Osterhout says the decision to have no returners on this year’s lineup was completely by design.
Osterhout says this year the festival will also include more Latin based performers after feeling the festival was lacking in that category last year. To that end, Osterhout announced one of the 2020 headliners for the festival on Wednesday’s Talk of Emporia.
Osterhout is currently working to secure additional headline acts and welcomes anyone who would like to be a part of the festival whether as an art vendor, performer or volunteer to contact Kansas Free For Arts by emailing KSfreeforarts@Gmail.com. The Halfway to Everywhere Music and Arts Festival will be taking place Saturday, Sept. 5 in downtown Emporia.
