The MIAA softball Coaches preseason poll is out. Emporia State is tied for 6th place with Northeastern State.
Coach April Rosales hopes they will surprise people.
Coach Rosales returns three pitchers Brylie Bassett, Kelsey Phillips and Sydney Righi. Six position players return including three that earned all conference honors Gabby Biondo, Hannah Steeby, and Cassidy Beem.
Central Oklahoma is the top pick in the poll.
They are followed by Missouri Western, Central Missouri
Rogers State and Washburn are tied for 4th.
After Emporia State its
Pittsburg State, Missouri Southern, Fort Hays State, Nebraska Kearney, Northwest Missouri, Newman and Lincoln.
The Lady Hornets open the season on February 7 against Concordia-St. Paul in the Mankato Dome Tournament in Mankato, Minnesota.
