This year’s Super Friend of the Emporia Public Library is KVOE.
The announcement was made on KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Monday. Friends of the Library spokesperson Dee Schwinn:
Emporia Public Library Director Robin Newell credited KVOE’s community involvement.
General Manager Ron Thomas was pleasantly surprised by the award.
The Super Friend has been awarded every year since 1998.
This comes as the Friends of the Library are organizing the first of the two annual book sales that generate funds for library projects. This year, the Friends are raising money for the library’s new outreach vehicle. The Friends also support the annual Kids Koncerts and various reading programs.
