Slushy driving conditions are in place in and around Emporia on Wednesday.
Light snow has completely covered local streets, and temperatures near freezing have led to slushy or icy travel. City and county crews have been out since well before sunrise, treating and blading roads, but slick conditions are commonplace both locally and regionally. KanDrive.org reports most major highways are partly to completely covered with snow and slush.
TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers says drivers need to be cautious as a rain-snow mix could be with us for much of the day.
So far, there have been no schedule adjustments reported.
Winter weather advisories continue for the entire KVOE listening area. For Lyon and most surrounding counties, the advisory ends at noon. The advisory ends at 6 pm for Chase and Greenwood counties.
