Now that the application window has passed for a new superintendent, the USD 251 North Lyon County Board of Education will start winnowing the field at a special meeting Monday.
The board meets at 7 pm at the board’s meeting room in Americus, and the only item on the agenda is an executive session “regarding non-elected personnel in reference to the superintendent search.” It is unclear whether any candidates will be announced afterward.
At least 10 candidates have stepped forward to take over for Mike Mathes, who is ending his two-year term as interim superintendent in June.
