A contract for the development of a new electronic model of the city’s potable water system will be amongst the agenda items for the Emporia City Commission’s action session Wednesday night.
The proposed model will put all of the pipes, pumps and elevated storage included in the city’s system into a software program which according to Bruce Boettcher of BG Consultants will help give engineers and city staff a more thorough technical understanding of how the system works. The estimated cost of the project is $125,000.
Additionally, commissioners will consider an economic development program with the Kansas Department of Transportation as well as the city’s 2020 legislative policy statement which was tabled during the city’s study session last week. The meeting begins at 7 pm inside the municipal courtroom at White Auditorium.
