After a banner year for the Emporia Arts Council, 2020 is looking to be even bigger and better.
EAC Executive Director Dawn Young recently joined KVOE’s Morning Show to highlight what exciting performances, programming and activities are coming to the community this year. As always the EAC Performing Art Series will have a star-studded line up which will be launching on Friday, Feb. 28 with America’s Got Talent season 8 finalist Catapult Entertainment.
Young explains Catapult is a collaborative dance troupe that combines contortionism and shadow theater to create a unique storytelling experience.
This year’s lineup will also include a performance on March 10 at the Granada Theatre by the Tap Pack, a tap-dancing group inspired by the legendary Rat Pack. Along with the list of unique performances on the calendar, Young says they have a slew of art programs coming this year for all ages to enjoy.
The EAC’s We Are Emporia Arts Community Theatre (WEACT) group will also be returning this year with their first performance scheduled for Jan. 25 inside the David Theater at the Emporia Arts Center.
