Severe weather is expected to impact northwestern Chase County through Friday afternoon.
The National Weather Service has placed Northwest Chase County into a severe thunderstorm warning until 1:15 pm. The major hazards include wind gusts which could reach 60 mph and half dollar sized hail.
The thunderstorm warning comes as several counties remain under winter storm warnings including Lyon, Chase, Morris and Wabaunsee counties until 6 pm Saturday. Coffey, Greenwood and Osage counties remain in a separate warning through 6 pm Saturday as well.
