USD 251 North Lyon County continues its search for a new superintendent, and things are going well at least by one measure.
Interim Superintendent Mike Mathes says there have been around 10 applications to the Kansas Association of School Boards. USD 251 board chair Matt Horton says this is good news for the district.
Horton says the interest is in part due to the fiscal stability the district has shown the past few years, and he credited both Mathes, past administrators and the board for its work in that regard.
Applications are due back Jan. 16. The board will have an executive session to discuss the candidates and possibly pick those advancing in the process Jan. 20. The board is moving forward with the superintendent search with Mathes’ two-year term ending in June.
