Emporia City Commissioners have three meetings in one Wednesday.
The commission will meet Wednesday morning inside city conference room 1AB for a study session which will include discussions on a water system model, a report from the city’s land bank and 2020 legislative policies. Following the session, commissioners will move into an action session which could see the approval of the Pleasant Point Rural Housing Incentive District following a public hearing.
Additional items will include the appointment of members to boards, consideration of a grant agreement with Federal Home Bank, and the city’s 2020 legislative policy agreement. Finally, the commission will move into their annual business meeting which will include a state of the city address by current Mayor Jon Geitz, the election of the new Mayor and Vice-Mayor and the installation of new commissioners among other items.
The study session will begin at 11 am inside city conference room 1AB at White Auditorium before moving to the Municipal Courtroom for the action and business meetings at 1:30 pm.
