The old year ends with a new designation for Rebeca Herrera at the Granada Theatre.
Named as the acting director in September following the departure of Aden Lindholm, the Granada has now named Herrera the permanent director and announced the move on KVOE’s Morning Show on Monday. Herrera says she’s grateful for the board’s support.
Theatre Alliance Board of Directors President Sonia Hodges says Herrera has fit in well since she came on board as acting director in September.
When she was first announced in a leadership role this fall, Herrera said her background in dance and music would be of help to the theater.
The Granada has its New Year’s Eve party Tuesday night starting at 7 pm with the DeWayn Brothers, Weda Skirts and Unfit Wives performing. It also is selling tickets for the Blackhawk concert Feb. 7 and is getting ready to sell tickets over the next few days for Darryl Worley on March 7.
