The Lyon County History Center is in the process of a “complete reboot” of the second floor.
History Center Deputy Director Lisa Soller recently spoke with KVOE News to give an update on the renovations. According to Soller the new additions to the history center will be keeping in line with the center’s core themes.
At this time they are in the artifact identification stage of the renovation process according to Soller. She says once they have finished identifying each of the artifacts that will go with the different displays they will then begin researching the artifacts to gain a better understanding of how they tie in with the story they are trying to communicate through the exhibit.
Soller did not give away all of the details surrounding the new exhibits, however, she did say one will include the story of Veteran’s Day. Soller says the exhibit will feature several special artifacts, including one that was instrumental in the creation of Veteran’s Day.
Soller says they have also begun repositioning cases on the second floor once the displays are ready to be put in place.
