The Emporia Recreation Commission will be bringing a laundry list of new programs, both old and new, into the new year.
This includes the classic Beyond the Bell program for local children when school is not in session, self-defense classes, parents night out opportunities and even a new team building program led by Emporia Recreation Commission Programs Director Tiffany Baker. Baker joined KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Friday morning to discuss each of these events at length.
According to Baker many of the events coming in 2020 are either events which the Rec Commission has held before and saw success or something new to fill needs Baker noticed when she joined the commission.
While detailing the programs Baker discussed the new Breaking Barriers team building program which is offered to local businesses, teams or any other group who may be needing some exciting group activities. Baker says the minimum number of individuals needed is 10 and the maximum is 40.
Additionally, she says the groups can either come to the Rec Center for the program or she can come to the business itself. For a full list of programs and more information click here.
