Smiles, hugs and a few tears were part of the atmosphere at Kari’s Diamonds and Bridal on Monday as the store held the annual KVOE-Kari’s Christmas Ring for Kids fundraiser.
The grand prize, a 1-carat vintage-style white gold diamond ring valued at $6,000, goes to Emily Dieker.
Kari’s owner Kari Stookey was grateful for the community support.
Over $3,400 was raised. The money helps children and families served by SOS with immediate needs during the holidays, but it has also helped at other times of the year. SOS Director Connie Cahoone says this lifts a weight off her and her staff.
KVOE General Manager Ron Thomas was glad for the community involvement and support.
Residents could offer suggested donations of $5 for one chance to win or $20 for five chances from Dec. 3 through 2 pm Monday.
