(ku/espn/ap) #18 Villanova slipped past #1 Kansas 56-55 Saturday.
Jermaine Samuels hit a 3-pointer with 20.5 seconds left to give Villanova the lead for good. The Wildcats scored the final 5 points of the game. Kansas was leading by 4 with 1:49 to play. Devon Dotson was unable to connect on the potential game-winner as time expired as the Wildcats snapped the Jayhawks’ nine-game winning streak. Dotson scored a team high 15 points. Udoka Azubuike had 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Jayhawks. The Jayhawks are now 9-2 for the season. The Jayhawks will close out 2019 with a trip to the west coast for a battle against the Stanford Cardinal on Sunday, December 29th.
