The numbers are becoming more favorable for the Salvation Army of Emporia as fundraising efforts continue for the Red Kettle Campaign.
Wednesday saw the debut of Real Estate Wednesday, the newest friendly competition in the Red Kettle Campaign’s long list of fundraising activities. The new event managed to raise a grand total of just over $1,300.
Coldwell Banker came in first place with $915, second place was Ek Real Estate with $288 and Farm and Home was third with $141. Salvation Army Cpt. Deb Thompson says to raise $1,300 in the span of three hours is an amazing accomplishment.
With this addition, the Red Kettle Campaign is now 75 percent towards it’s $63,000 goal with five days remaining. Earlier this week, Cpt. Deb announced the campaign was just under 50 percent following fundraising activities last weekend.
The final doubler day of the year will be taking place Friday with an anonymous donor matching all donations up to $1,000. Fundraising efforts will continue through Christmas Eve. For more information, call the Salvation Army at 342-3093.
