The fog has lifted and travel is definitely improving across the KVOE listening area.
A combination of sunshine and temperatures in the mid-30s will help to clear major arterials and residential collector streets in town as well as some highways. Temperatures may have to climb to the 40s before residential streets emerge from recent snowfall, but that could happen as soon as Wednesday.
There was a risk of freezing fog and light ice accumulations earlier Tuesday, but that risk didn’t materialize on a large scale. The Lyon County Emergency Communications Center says there were a few fender-benders, while neighboring county dispatch departments reported no issues in their counties.
TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers says there is a slight chance of refreezing or redeveloping fog after sunset, but most of the area should avoid those issues based on the current forecast. Stay with KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media for updates.
