The Lyon County Planning and Appeals Board gave its blessing for two communication towers during its meeting Wednesday night.
Board members recommended US Cellular towers in the 2300 block of Road G near Americus and the 700 block of Road M near Olpe as the company increases reception near both towns. The applications will now go to the Lyon County Commission later this month. County commissioners could approve the applications, deny them or send them back to the Planning Board for more work.
Separately, board members also continued their discussions on zoning regulations, focusing on process and updates after the city of Emporia and Lyon County wrapped up informational meetings on the PlanELC zoning regulations earlier this month.
