Nearly a month after a woman was found bound and unconscious near Lawrence, the Osage County Sheriff’s Office and several other agencies continue investigating the case.
Very little information has been announced since the case came to light Nov. 3. The Lawrence Journal-World says the woman was found inside a vehicle at the Lawrence Public Schools’ Wakarusa Valley building. This followed a request by Topeka Police for a welfare check Nov. 2. Douglas County deputies took the woman to Lawrence Memorial Hospital before Osage County detectives met the initial investigating team.
The Journal-World says Osage County is leading the investigation, but the sheriff’s office has not confirmed that. It only says it is working with numerous jurisdictions, including Topeka Police, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation on this case.
Authorities have not released the woman’s identity or any other specifics about the case other than to say no arrests have been made. People with information are asked to call Osage County Crime Stoppers at 877-OS-CRIME.
