60 points off of turnovers and 19 made 3’s carried the Emporia State womens basketball team to a 114-42 win over Bethel Monday night.
After a sluggish first quarter the Lady Hornets warmed up with 5 made three point shots in the 2nd quarter. They would lite it up in the 3rd quarter connecting on 8 threes to build a 83-36 lead going to the 4th quarter. Coach Toby Wynn said the defense allowed them to build the lead.
Mollie Mounsey was 6-12 behind the 3 point arc and scored 19 points. Grace Gordon was 5 for 5 from the 3 point line and also finished with 19 points.
Karsen Schultz and Tre’Zure Jobe both scored 16 points. Fredricka Sheats added 14 points and Kali Martin finished with 10 points. The 19 made 3s are 1 shy of the school record for most made 3s in a game. The Lady Hornets forced 39 turnovers and had 28 steals. The Lady Hornets improve to 4-2 for the season and will host Washburn Friday.
