Its now official, the Kansas City Royals have a new owner. Major League Baseball Owners today approved the purchase of the Royals by the ownership group led by John Sherman, a Kansas City, Missouri-based entrepreneur.
Sherman becomes the 3rd owner in Royals history.
Shermans ownership group purchased the team from David Glass who purchased the team in 2000 for $96 million. Sherman reportedly purchased the team for close to $1 billion. He hopes to finalize the deal next week.
