A highway crash between a car and commercial truck resulted in a hospital trip for an Emporia woman Friday.
The crash happened shortly after 9:40 am on US Highway 75 near Topeka. The Kansas Highway Patrol says 37-year-old Lindy Tabares of Emporia was moving slowly southbound in the outside lane when her car was hit from behind by a southbound truck driven by 57-year-old William Kane of Rexford. Kane was unable to move to the inside lane due to traffic and tried unsuccessfully to stop before the crash.
Tabares was taken to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka with possible injuries. Kane was not hurt.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
