Trial is one step closer for an armed robbery suspect after action this week in Lyon County District Court.
Harold Stewart faces jury trial later this month after allegedly robbing the Max’s BP convenience store at 202 East Sixth back in February. During a motions hearing Thursday, Judge Merlin Wheeler approved a defense request not to use certain statements in the case.
Stewart is tentatively set for a final pretrial Nov. 20 and trial Nov. 25. Court documents say Stewart tried to buy items from the convenience store with a credit card that was eventually declined. He then allegedly came back, told the store clerk he had a gun and demanded money.
