If you’re looking forward to a traditional Thanksgiving meal but don’t want to wait until Thanksgiving, then American Legion Post 5 is where you’ll want to be Saturday evening.
The American Legion and American Legion Auxillary are holding their annual Thanksgiving Dinner fundraiser at the Legion building, 2921 West 12th Avenue Saturday. The menu will include turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green beans and all of your traditional favorites.
The meal is being prepared by American Legion members Nona Thomas and Wayne Ireland. Organizers tell KVOE News they will be preparing enough food for just over 100 people.
The cost of the meal is $9 at the door and includes both the meal and a beverage. Diners will have the option of dining in or taking their meal to go.
All proceeds will benefit the American Legion’s efforts in the local community. The meal will go from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm, tickets are available at the door and organizers will continue serving until all the food is gone.
