A report of a stabbing incident in Greenwood County over the weekend led to two people being both hurt and arrested afterward.
Greenwood County Sheriff Heath Samuels says dispatchers received an emergency call shortly after 2 pm Sunday. One person said he had locked himself into a vehicle in the 2500 block of AA Road between Hamilton and Virgil. That person reported being stabbed and the attacking person was trying to get into the vehicle.
When deputies arrived, they found both people had suffered injuries consistent with sharp-edged weapons, and it turned out one person had two knives and the other had a broadhead arrow in their respective possessions.
Deputies are not saying which person attacked the other, but they say both people were injured during the incident and both had recently used methamphetamine — which “likely” contributed to the fight.
After treatment for injuries, deputies arrested 36-year-old Athena King, hometown not listed, on suspicion of aggravated domestic battery, aggravated assault, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Also arrested was 57-year-old Michael Mitchell, hometown not listed, on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. Formal charges may be filed this week.
