The Emporia State womens basketball team picked up their first win of the season, out scoring Henderson State 62-59 Saturday.
The Lady Hornets used a 21-7 third quarter run to overcome a 34-27 halftime deficit. Jessica Wayne scored a game high 18 points to lead Emporia State in scoring. Morgan Lauden finished 13 points Jayden Harris finished with a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds. The Lady Hornets are now 1-1 for the season. They will host Northwestern Oklahoma State in their home opener Thursday.
