The Madison Bulldogs advanced to round three of the playoffs and picked up a regional championship with a 52-6 win over Maranatha Academy Friday night.
The Bulldogs were first on the board thanks to a 44-yard touchdown run from junior quarterback Ryan Wolgram. Senior tailback Nassun Wasson would add a 28-yard and 42-yard touchdown run then Wolgram would connect with sophomore Drew Stutseman for a five-yard touchdown pass and scored on a 30-yard run to give the Bulldogs a 38 point lead at the half.
Madison would secure the win thanks to a 25-yard touchdown run by Wasson in the third quarter.
Wasson led the offense with 143 yards rushing and three touchdowns. As a whole, Madison finished the night with a total of 418 offensive yards. Madison Head Coach Alex McMillan says this season has been full of milestones for his team.
Maranatha’s lone score came off a 28-yard pass from senior quarterback Nate Burdette to senior Drew Utech. The Bulldogs now improve to 10-0 on the season while Maranatha finishes the season 7-3.
Madison plays at Caldwell next Friday.
