Honor Flight is underway for USD 252 Southern Lyon County — and, for the first time, USD 251 North Lyon County.
Students, veterans, coordinators and medical staff left Olpe High School around 1:45 am. This trip involves 23 veterans and 21 student guardians, including 11 students from Olpe, six from Hartford and four from Northern Heights.
The trip itinerary includes stops at different war memorials, including the World War II, Korea and Vietnam; as well as military branch memorials; the Lincoln and Jefferson memorials, Martin Luther King memorial and Holocaust Museum. The contingent will be back by late Tuesday night.
