Flint Hills Care Center is officially under new ownership.
Shawnee County Judge Mary Christopher has approved a plan for Recover-Care Emporia SNF Realty LLC to own Flint Hills Care Center and Recover-Care Emporia LLC to operate the 41-bed facility.
Flint Hills Care Center was previously run by Pinnacle Management Company, but it went into receivership in late August 2018 after both the management company and owner Virgil Goracke allegedly owed hundreds of thousands of dollars to the state and nearly $60,000 to vendors. Two other care centers run by Pinnacle were also placed into receivership at the same time.
The new agreement became effective Friday, according to the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services.
