Emporia State University and USD 253 Emporia are among several area entities receiving grants from the Kansas Leadership Center.
The so-called Transformation Grants are in-kind grants. They are valued at up to $150,000 each and provide training to build cultures of leadership. The program also includes coaching, consulting and support. Grant recipients can send cohorts of 10 to 80 people for training exercises.
Besides ESU and Emporia Public Schools, Sant Francis Ministries, which provides child services and foster care services to Lyon and several surrounding counties, and Greenwood County Hospital were recently approved for a second year of grants through the program.
