A slick spot on the Kansas Turnpike led to a reported injury crash in southern Chase County on Wednesday night.
The Turnpike Authority says 46-year-old James Snell III of Wichita was driving a semi northbound when he hit a patch of ice at mile marker 100, about three miles northeast of the Matfield Green exit, just after 8 Pm. The semi slid from the outside lane to the center barrier and hit it.
Snell declined a hospital trip afterward. Traffic was constricted to one lane around the crash site.
