The KVOE listening area has seen its first light dusting of snowfall for the season.
Snowfall began around the lunch hour Wednesday afternoon, however, there has yet to be any reports of accumulation.
Winter weather advisories continue for Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties until 10 pm Wednesday evening. Chase and Greenwood counties remain in an advisory until 7 pm.

A light wintry mix of precipitation for the rest of the day may be lighter than first thought.
Earlier projections of up to an inch of snow and perhaps 0.20 inches of ice are being scaled back, according to TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers.

Winter weather advisories continue across the KVOE listening area into the evening hours.
Advisories cover Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties until 10 pm and Chase and Greenwood counties until 7 pm, reflecting the chances of light wintry precipitation and hazardous travel as a result. TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers says about the only sure things over the next 24 hours are cold temperatures, breezy conditions and light snow and ice accumulations.
Temperatures will be close to freezing all day. Meyers anticipates the morning could be mainly dry, with snow or ice for the afternoon hours. Meyers says travel issues may develop by late afternoon or early evening as temperatures slide below freezing.
Overall, up to an inch of snow and up to 0.20 inches of ice are possible areawide.
No accumulation developed Tuesday.
City and county crews are watching the forecast and are ready if needed. Both the Emporia Public Works Department and Lyon County Highway Department have been receiving snow melting or traction materials over the past few days.
