Missouri Western shutout the Emporia State football team 28-0 Saturday.
Missouri Westerns defense held the Hornets in check all game long. In the first half the Hornets punted 4 times, fumbled once and turned the ball over on downs once.
In the second half Emporia State switched quarterbacks going with Braden Gleason who threw for 122 yards and rushed for 46 yards. As a team the Hornets turned the ball over on downs twice, punted twice, and had 2 turnovers, a fumble and interception.
Emporia State 0-2 in the red zone.
Missouri Western quarterback Wyatt Steigerwald threw for 214 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Its the first time this season the Hornets have been shutout.
Emporia State falls to 2-6 for the season. They will host Washburn next Saturday with kick-off at 2pm at Welch Stadium.
