Thankfully, nobody was hurt after a combine caught fire north of Emporia early Saturday afternoon.
Emporia Fire was called to the 1000 block of Road 210 around 12:50 pm. Conley tells KVOE News the driver did his best to minimize the potential damage — and he also escaped unharmed.
The driver’s name has not been released. The cause and origination point of the fire have not been determined.
Besides Emporia Fire, Lyon County deputies and Rural Fire District No. 4 responded.

A piece of farm equipment caught fire Saturday and suffered heavy damage afterward.
Emporia Fire was called to the 1000 block of Road 210 around 12:50 pm after a combine caught fire. The driver was able to escape harm’s way before firefighters arrived and put the fire out.
The cause and origination point of the fire have not been announced.
