The Kansas City Chiefs elevated rookie quarterback Kyle Shurmur from the practice squad to the active roster. He will be the back-up to Matt Moore as he fills in for Patrick Mahomes.
To make room on the roster for Shurmur, the Chiefs released wide receiver DeAnthony Thomas.
