Lyon County’s fight against diabetes continues to grow with the introduction of the 24 for Life program on Monday.
24 for Life is part of the National Diabetes Prevention Program. It helps try to prevent the disease by helping people with diabetes and prediabetes to make a complete lifestyle change by meeting the two goals of the program to lose 5%-7% of their starting weight and get 150 minutes of physical activity each week.
Assistant Coordinator for the 24 for Life Diabetes Prevention Program Donna Doel says that the effectiveness of the program comes from the group dynamics the program has.
