Emporia State University celebrated its alumni with the annual Black and Gold Gala on Friday night.
Alumni Relations Director Jose Feliciano says the night celebrates alumni in general, but specifically those who have given back through the Kellogg Society, President’s Society and Black and Gold Circle.
This year’s Distinguished Alumni and Outstanding Scholars were also noted.
Black and Gold capped a busy day of Homecoming activities on campus that started with the Phi Delta Theta annual pole sit to benefit SOS, along with the KSTC luncheon and student bonfire.
Saturday kicks off with the Athletics Hall of Honor breakfast at 8 am at Webb Hall. In addition to alumni games for softball, volleyball and baseball players, there will be a groundbreaking ceremony for the Kossover Family Tennis Complex at 10 am. The Homecoming parade starts at 11:30 am in downtown Emporia, leading up to the Homecoming football game against Central Missouri at 2 pm.
The final performance of “Little Women” closes down Homecoming events at 2 pm Sunday.
