Lyon County voters are encouraged to cast their ballot for the Nov. 5 general election with a special offsite event Saturday.
For the second straight year, the Lyon County Election Office will set up shop at Flinthills Mall. Lyon County Clerk Tammy Vopat says last year’s event kept election staffers busy.
Vopat says the pre-vote procedure will be the same at the mall as it will be for the advance vote process at the County Courthouse or at the traditional polling places for the actual Election Day on Nov. 5.
The offsite vote event lands between two other parts of the advance vote process. Folks wanting their ballots to be mailed to them started receiving those Thursday, while voters interested in going to the County Courthouse can do so beginning Monday.
The special voting event goes from 9 am to 1 pm on the west side between Hibbett Sports and PetSense.
