The third annual rendition of The Cut is taking place Friday night at Flint Hills Technical College.
The live spinoff of the popular Food Network TV show Chopped will once again pit four FHTC culinary arts students against each other in three rounds of competition: appetizer, entree and dessert. One student is eliminated after each round.
People attending can watch what’s happening in the kitchen as it develops as part of a watch party inside the conference center. Vice President of Advancement Mike Crouch says the program has rapidly become a showcase for both the culinary arts and interactive multimedia design departments.
In addition, the contest is now turning heads in the culinary world. Last year, Broadmoor Hotels head chef David Patterson attended, saying the competition is unique at the college level.
The Cut starts at 6 pm at the main campus. Tickets are $15 per person. For more information, call the college at 343-4600 or go online to www.fhtc.edu.
