Two rail crossings in east Emporia could be closed into next week.
The city of Emporia says Burlington Northern Santa Fe is continuing maintenance projects at East Street, which closed Tuesday, and at Weaver, which will close Thursday. The railroad has given no details about the maintenance projects in question.
The city says there will be a traffic control detour route for the Weaver Street crossing but not for the closure at East.
