The Emporia High football team scored 14 touchdowns by 10 different players while defeating Highland Park 98-16 Friday night.
The Spartans scored 7 touchdowns in the 1st quarter alone.
Connor Hoyt scored the first touchdown. Beau Baumgardner, John Miller, Skyler Douglas, Keagan Lee scored twice and John Miller threw a touchdown pass to Charles Snyder to give the Spartans a 49-0 lead after the first quarter.
In the 2nd quarter John Miller connected with Charles Snyder for a 2nd time. Skyler Douglas scored his 2nd touchdown of the night. Kaden Williams would score 2 touchdowns and threw a touchdown pass to Bobby Trujillo to give the Spartans a 84-8 halftime lead.
In the 2nd half Aidan Jackson and Cal Kohlmeier added touchdown runs.
The Spartans with the win improve to 4-2 for the season and 4-1 in Centennial league play.
They will play Topeka High next Friday.
