On Thursday, Emporia welcomed 600 students from 27 high schools across the state for the annual Flint Hills Technical College Wrangler Rally.
As FHTC’s largest recruitment effort of the year, Wrangler Rally allows students to take a hands-on approach to exploring the school. Director of Recruitment Bryan Crouch says interactive experience is becoming incredibly important as overall enrollment trends shift away from universities and toward trade based education.
The Wrangler Rally event boasts a return of around 30 percent each year and FHTC’s yearly full-time enrollment is up 18 percent since 2014. Crouch explains that the Wrangler Rally experience is a major driving force behind those trends.
