Friends of the Emporia Kansas Animal Shelter (FEAS) will be holding their Fall Micro Chip Event next weekend at L&L Pets in downtown Emporia.
Micro chips are small rice-sized devices that are injected just under the skin of animals like dogs and cats right in between their shoulder blades. The purpose is to ensure each pet has a safe and reliable tracking method should one run away. The process will not take long, says Deb Ghere of FEAS.
The cost of the process is $25 per pet, and this also includes a tag stating the animal’s chipped status through AKC Reunite. The event will be held at L&L Pets in Emporia on October 20th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and will go longer if necessary. Ghere asks that all dogs be brought on a leash and for cats to be brought in a carrier.
