Manhattan scored 21 first quarter points on the way to a 35-12 win over Emporia High Friday night.
Coach Corby Milleson said there were a few bright spots.
Manhattan scored on their first 3 possessions and led 21-0 after the first quarter. Emporia High scored on a John Miller touchdown run in the 2nd quarter. Manhattan would add a touchdown before halftime and led 28-6 at intermission.
John Miller would connect with Kayden Williams on a 20 yard scoring pass to cut the deficit to 28-12 going to the 4th quarter.
Manhattan added a touchdown in the 4th quarter to seal the win.
The Spartans fall to 3-2 for the season and 3-1 in Centennial League play. They will play Highland Park in Topeka next Friday.
