Emporia High’s marching band took home two awards at the Emporia State Marching Festival on Wednesday.
Emporia High landed top honors for drumline and drum major as it took attendees on a journey through “The Big Bang.”
Spring Hill and Eisenhower tied for first place, while Andover officially took second and Maize was third. All three got superior ratings. Emporia High received a superior rating after originally being listed as excellent due to an inadvertent error.
Burlington, Northern Heights and Osage City all received excellent ratings.
Over 20 bands performed.
